Raphelp is the Remote Access Protocol, or RAP. The prime function of this protocol is that it helps in the configuration and remote access of AmplePower products. This is enabled by RAP either through a computer or with the help of another AmplePower product. RAP can be stated, to be communication architecture of today’s times. It is expected to have application for large-scale sensor networks.
RAP has a role to play in case of different applications which are micro-sensing in nature. The advantages of RAP mainly being that , it is convenient to use along with offering high level of event and query services. It has particularly got a significant application in case of sensor networks which are representative in nature. In these networks, RAP is generally capable of reducing the miss ratio with respect to the deadlines.
The prime objectives of RAP are to ensure that the unique characteristics of different sensor networks are achieved. Therefore, RAP aims at offering service to the APIs in so that they can function effectively in distributed micro-sensing and appropriately in the sensor networks. At the same time, RAP ensures that the overheads related to communication and processing are also minimized.
Thus, all in all, integration of a set of protocols which are generally light-weight in nature is possible through RAP. It primarily aims to achieve the requirements of large scale sensor networks.
