pSyn may be described as a multi-functional synth. The prime functions of pSyn are that it is capable of producing a great variety of sounds. This variety is infinite in nature.
There are different parts of pSyn. The first part is the Oscillator. This part is primarily capable of producing sounds. On the left side of the pSyn, a switch is available which allows an individual to select a triangle, sawtooth or a square. There are knobs available to adjust the pitch of the sound. These knobs are TUNE and FINE knobs.
There is another part of pSyn which performs the function of controlling the Oscillator with low frequency. It may appear as a wave on the sea that may appear to produce a given sound. The left side switch generally defines the shape of the wave. Therefore, this shape can be a saw-toothed, triangle, square or any other random shape.
There is another knob available called the RATE knob. The prime function of this knob is that it adjusts the speed of the wave. There is a button available called The KEY TRIG button. When this button is selected, it restarts the wave.
ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN and RELEASE functions of the pSyn can be adjusted using the different knobs. A button namely the VEL SENS button is also present. This button is responsible for making the pSyn Velocity Sensitive. The function of this button is to ensure that the attack will be shorter especially for the notes that are louder in nature. Thus it provides a mechanism to add a type of variation to the sounds.
Further it is also possible to ensure filter changes which are swirling in nature or for crunching attacks. Additionally, there is also an Amplifier which can contribute towards completely changing the characteristics of the sound. This can be achieved using the ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN and RELEASE knobs.
