At the time when is one subscribing to a podcast, new episodes are first checked by iTunes at regular intervals. With some time, the list of available episodes could however be out of control. By clicking the display triangle for that podcast, one can achieve the objective of either hiding or revealing the different available episodes.

All the involved steps can be actually made vanilla simple with the help of itpc protocol. The subscription can be made one click simple by adding “itpc” just ahead of the podcast’s url. For example: itpc://www.example.com/podcast.xml

Once this is done, iTunes immediately takes over and begins with the downloading of the first episode.
